As for those books... eh. I don't wholly agree with that statement. Yes, it tends to be that way, but I think it depends on the type of person you are. And also, I'd only count serious relationships to be 'serious'. For one of my best friends it took two tries. And the girl was right there the whole time, it's so coincidental. Don't believe everything you read or see... I think it's just garbage that's trying to brainwash society into believing a certain way. In your words, I'd love to cave in the heads of these assholes who feed the fire with this shit. Don't believe stuff like that, especially that you hear in some book or someone heard from some book/saw on TV or a movie, etc. It's not necessarily true. And in your case, since you hate it as much as I do, maybe prove yourself to be the exception to the damn rule, if it even is a rule.
