Its probably getting wierd because you havent told him you DONT want to see him anymore. He thinks you do, and wonders why you wont talk to him. Is your mutual friend talking to both of you? Have you said anything to this person that could be interpreted wrongly if relayed to your ex-friend?

He does, but he has a depressive personality. He think by making you feel sorry for him you'll like him. By being mean when he feels like you hurt him, he trys to make you feel guilty, and take pity on him. By not talking he trys to make you come to him.
