Can't quite put my finger on it, but I'd take them over a white guy any day, and I'm not ashamed to say so. The culture has a minor part in it, but that's not completely it......just like you, I really can't explain it.

I think there's far too much 'worry' about admitting attractions to other races. I mean, it's not 1950. Don't question it, RSK, just go with it. I'd tell you the same thing if you said "I'm attracted to men and I'm not sure why." If it's in your nature, then just be who you are.
Actually, I do remember you posting this when I first came here to LF! You have one heck of a memory!

I was reading your post, and it's simply beautiful the way you say "don't question your attraction - just go with it".

Thanks for your post!

But if you don't mind, how did you look past the whole 'streotype' that we east indians have, (red spot, funny accent, hello come again, working in a gas station, etc, etc,)

The fact that you have an east indian bf, then you probably know that there are two types of Indians:

The Westernized Indian
and the FOB

(I would be the former) It kind of suck in way, but the FOB and Western Indian groups in the States don't really get along.

I'm not sure if your dating a FOB, or a Westernized Indian - but there is a huge difference. FOB's are usually more connected to their Indian Culture.

Don't get me wrong - So are Westernized Indians - but not as much, and we don't speak the language fluently (even though we can understand it)

I think at least 1 more generation of living here in the USA, and all these Westernized Indians wouldn't be recognizable anymore - I know it's not what our grandparents want - but as i said, that's nature's way of unfolding...

One more other thing about east indians, (westernized one's):

We're not too black, and not too white in terms of skin colour:

BAM - We're right in the middle.

I think this is the direct consequence of the vast array of east indian personalities we have today:

You have the Indian that thinks he's black
The indian that think's he totally white
The surfer Indian dude that lives by the beach
The rebelious Indian dude that puts on white make-up
The indian that acts totally prep

The list goes on and on. And I've met all types. I guess every race has their fair share of 'posers', but i think it's more pronouced in the east indian community.

I really went off on a tangent here, so I'll thank you again for your post, Thanks.
