It doesn't sound like she's avoiding you, sweetie, and that is a good sign. Call her aside from her friends if you can't get her by herself otherwise, and ask her how her summer was. If she is responding warmly, ask her if she wants to go do something sometime, maybe coffee or whatever it is you kids do these days. I know it is scary, but you'll never know unless you ask.
