i was over there and it was gettin kinda late and i was gonna stay the night , his mom said it was fine , but i had to ask mine first (he woulda slept on a diff couch), so i'm like ya ok, so i call her , and she says i can't...the thing is tho, like 2 months ago his family asked me to go to their farm wit them for the weekend (it turned out to only be the day), but my parents were gonna let me go then , so what do u think is the problem here?!
It's simple. For the 'weekend trip', it was a whole weekend. You would've been under supervision, and the only way you could have gone was to sleep over at the farm with them. Because it was too far for you to return home each night. So they said, "She really wants to go, and we don't want to deprive her of that."
For the other night, you're close enough to return home to sleep in your own bed. So even though his parents are still there, there's no reason you NEED to stay there over night. You can return there in the morning. So they feel more comfortable if you just come home that night.
Same thing like Ray Romano said when picking a place to live.
"Three circles from your parents house. If you're in zone A, they'll be over EVERY DAY. You don't want that. So you'd think you want to be as far as possible from them, right? WRONG! Zone C would be so far away that every time they came over, they'd have to be OVERNIGHT guests. So the perfect spot to stay would be Zone B. They come over once in a while, but more importantly, they GO BACK HOME when the day's over."
You were in zone A/B when you wanted to stay the night. For the weekend trip, you were in zone C.
