Do not do anything too expensive for a first date. The purpose of a first date is to see if you like her well enough to proceed to a second one.

Good first dates are lunch, coffeeshops inside bookstores, museums, something outdoorsy/athletic. Avoid movies.

Express genuine interest in HER life and what interests HER. Ask her questions and don't pretend you know everything about things you don't. If she likes something that you don't know about or don't care for, find out what it is she likes about it.

Ask about her family, friends, school, job.

Do not answer her questions in single word answers (yes/no).
