| Hm, this is a tough situation..
I think that her feelings haven't changed. I think that she's still really afraid of committing to you because of the whole 'losing you as a friend if it doesn't work out' thing. So, she responds in the worst way: by making it awkward. The situation is still ambiguous, nothing has been solved. If this keeps up the friendship will be damaged AND she won't be with you.
I think that you should take initiative and tell her you want to talk to her in person. I think you should have a talk about it... try to clear things up. Try to make it clear that you two can either forget about it and just be friends, or go for it and start going out. None of this awkward, in between crap. Believe me, that's a really bad place to be. It also depends on how you feel. It seems that you like her, so you should comfort her when she gives reasons for being scared like having feelings for her ex, etc. Like... telling her, but you have strong feelings for me, right? Or.. something. But I think you should talk to her and make things clear.
