I personally prefer to 'fight my own battles' but I do know some prefer to get a third party to find out. I agree it's effective but may make you come accross as a wimp.
It's probably best to meet her youself personally and see her reaction towards you. You shouldn't try too hard or seem toooooo interested. Just play it cool and see how it goes.
If she does bring up the topic of the emails say you were really drunk when you sent the last two and apologize for possibly coming across as an idiot.
It's very hard for us to give you advice as we have limited info about the girl/situation etc
