My boyfriend Phu and I are in a rental car driving back to the airport. It’s the end of a wonderful weekend visiting Toronto. I explain I’m sad I did not see St. Lawrence Market, a farmers market filled with small stalls selling fresh produce, cheese, meats, breads, pastries, and flowers. I tell Phu that I wasn’t able to bring him back a fresh pastry or almond croissant, like I usually do when I visit bakeries. Phu responds “Those pastries are bought. My favorite pastries are the ones made by you”. These words made my day.
