| It's not like your body follows whatever time zone you happen to be in and once you hit 5pm it says "NO MORE FOOD!!"
I've always heard not to eat huge meals less than 2-3 hours before you go to bed. I usually go to bed around 11 so I try to eat around 8 or 8:30, but no later than 9. For you, Lipp, you definitely don't want your last big meal to be at 5. That'd be anywhere up to 12-16 hours without any fuel for your body. And you don't want your body to go into a catabolic state if you're trying to gain muscle.
Evolution didn't create 3-meals per day, society did. Your body works best when it gets a steady supply of food, which is why it's best to eat 5-6 smaller meals per day, eating every 3 hours. |
