Why is it that Hollywood feels the need to remake just about every successful film and TV show that has ever been?
OK - stupid question. Obviously the answer is money. But still, why??
And now the Italian Job. THE ITALIAN JOB!! Is nothing sacred? The original is a classic. How could you improve on this and why would you want to?
OK, I haven't seen the remake, but I know I won't be able to bring myself to do it. And of course now it's American. The characters played by Michael Caine, Noel Coward, Benny Hill etc etc won't be known by generations to come.
Children will grow up thinking that the Italian Job was a film made in 2003 with new BMW minis and an American cast. It's too depressing.
And what's this TV show obsession?
Starsky & Hutch - REMADE AS A FILM.
Charlie's Angels - REMADE AS A FILM.
The Incredible Hulk - REMADE AS A FILM.
Mission Impossible - REMADE AS A FILM.
The Fugitive - REMADE AS A FILM.
The Avengers - REMADE AS A FILM.
What's next?
COME UP WITH SOMETHING ORIGINAL
Thanks for listenting. I feel better.
