starting off as friends is usually easier because you already know a lot about the other person and you know some of their good and bad qualities. you're able to be there for them when they need someone and you've put up with some of their irritating pet peeves. i would say that if you're willing to risk your friendship then try. there is no harm in trying but remember that she might not share the same feelings that you share for her. if i were in your shoes i would try rather than to always wonder. raverboy
