No need to be sorry, however, I do apologize for coming off as a bit of a jerk.

I just tell people to do those things because for one it makes it easier for people to read, and when people don't feel as if they're going to have to work just to understand what you're saying, they're more likely to read and respond to your longer more detailed posts.

And in response to the topic:

I don't know how you can help her, it seems like she has to get over being shy as well as get used to being rejected. If she doesn't date much I could see how she takes every little relationship very seriously, in the long run though this will hurt her chances.
