it's true. all these people, yet there's no interaction.. everybody keeps to themselves.

and everybody (I think wants company) and yet, we're so afraid to reach out to other strangers.

And when you start talking to them, they give you odd looks and probably think you're a crazy person. But I've met some interesting characters while waiting for the bus though.

And yes, I agree that bored is worse than alone.

Alone is just a situation, and bored is your state of mind. When you're alone, you're not necessarily unhappy, or sad. You're just alone. But when you're bored, man, that can drive a person to madness..
