Whos a strong believer in "If you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything"? Or are you one of those people who just get by.

EDIT: Crap thread, I know. I just wanted to de-virginize the new sub forum :D.

I believe it is good to have this attitude, even though it isn't true. In truth, all people are limited, but you achieve more with a positive attitude.

It isn't a nice thought is it? The fact that you can only do so much. Thats why I push myself, go the extra mile to see where my limitations lie and try to expand on these boundaries. For example my exercise regime for an upcomming 26 mile marathon. Every week I islightly increase the amount of time I go running for. So every week I'm testing myself to see if I can go that extra 2 minutes and eventually I improve. Not only on a physical level but also on a mental level. Thats the key to success, personal growth.

I have a history of doing just enough to get by.

In school at least.

Yup, the London marathon. I think it will be a good experience but also a good way to raise money for charity. Yeah, you don't need to say it. I'm kick-ass, I know, I know.

I don't know what he means. I've been out for five days, though. Did I miss this training session?

I can't find it. He's just in trouble anyway, because he hasn't been in trouble for almost a week.

On topic: I am a great believer in the power of will. People can change their lives, and change the world if they want to.

I get by, I survive. But there have been plenty of times where I know I can achieve things if I put my mind to it. It does work, most of the time. I am a believer, but a lot of the time I just get by, just keep going.

"A woman is like an artichoke. You have to do a bit of work before you can get to her heart."

That is true. You have to work for a person's heart, but part of it is just chance, and that chance is the ultimate deciding factor.

Even if you try hard, they might not like you. =/

I have close to 0 confidence in myself.

110%.......... You can achieve anything in this life if you think you can.

Yes, I'm a strong believer in getting what you put your mind to. Although at times fortune dictates otherwise, don't fret because as long as you work hard, you'll get SOMEWHERE else that you couldn't have gone to if you hadn't tried in the first place.

Yes, when you're so into doing a particular thing, you can achieve it.
When there's a will, there's always a way. It's better to try and believe that you might reach your goals then to sit at your house cursing your luck, praying for God to send you miracles.
