Getting someone's attention in whatever way you're comfortable with involves flirting. Flirting was a popular '80s term for trying to get someone's interest in a more subtle way than coming on strong. Unfortunately, flirting has received a bad rap, and these days is usually part of a complaint: "I saw my boyfriend flirting with another girl."
Let the new millennium welcome a resurgence of the positive aspects of flirting. That means, treat flirting as fun and a good way to practice social skills, and to make yourself and your targets feel good.
