we're okay again, so far. and it's safe to say that he's back to his normal self. i just made it clear to him that no matter what's happening in his life, or mine, we should keep communicating, and be honest about what we're communicating about.
I think the issue had less to do with communication and more with him not being there for you and not spending a lot of time with you. From experience, whatever causes made him be like that will still be there and at some point he will probably fall back into that pattern. What will you do next time it happens? You best have a plan. Breaking up with him and expecting him to make up is not a viable solution.
