Love Tactics book, or any other book?
Hey has anyone read the book Love Tactics by Tom McKnight (www.lovetactics.com)? The author seems to be pretty knowledgeable, but has anyone tried any of these tactics? I am currently trying to get back an ex (in a very similar situation as Satch's) , and Part II of the book is all about this. Basically, what I got out of it in order to get an ex back was to cut off all contact for about 4-6 weeks, then call the ex and ask to meet for lunch or something. After a good "date," wait about a week, then call and ask to get together again, then keep doing this. During all this, you are never to mention that you miss her, want her back, or are depressed, and during the 4-6 week break, you are to improve yourself and your relationship skills as much sa possible. Is this sound advice?

Let me know if anyone has any opinions on this book, or any other suggestions on other good books that can help me on my quest. Thanks!

Shawn

Hey Shawn,

I've read two books now. One called "How To Get Your Lover Back" (Amazon), and "Stop Your Divorce" www.stopyourdivorce.com, and both books have been great. Although their effectiveness has yet to be proven for me....

The no contact thing is purely to get your emotions at bay. If you ex misses you during the nc period, then that is a huge bonus. But not to be counted on though. It is all about creating positive moments with your ex, and show her the improvements that you have made to your life (don't tell her unless she asks). Act like she is your preference, but not your need. Let her see that if she does not want to come back to you, then you will not be overly bothered. This is hard, because both you and I would take her back in a flash! She cannot see this though. People want what they cannot have. This is EXACTLY the situation we are in at the moment. We want our ex's back, but we cannot have them.

PM me with the details of your situation. I'd be keen to compare notes.

I have read "How to get your lover back," but did not think it was a very good book. Love Tactics (and the website) to me seems much better. I am currently checking out "Stop Your Divorce." I will PM you with details, and maybe we can discuss further...
