While first impressions do determine how we feel about someone -- and even though I've said you should consider your time, energy, and attention precious and not to waste them -- there is a point to giving someone another chance. The first date may have been really good, but he may have been on his best behavior. more dates are necessary before you really know someone and can truly judge how he responds to you and other situations. Or, the first encounter may have been a disaster because she was nervous or the situation was unfavorable (such as rain, missed timing, a canceled event) so they deserve another chance.
