Okay, I'm mad. Beyond mad. Close to furious.

What do you do with someone who won't even take a simple reminder about something important, that they have obviously forgotten about, without getting all defensive and nasty?

You say 'fine, whatever' and leave them alone to take responsibility for their shit, right?

But what happens if, by doing that, it means they have to screw something else up? And you get blamed for *that* happening (i.e. they get mad you wouldn't cover for them?) Again?

actually i just walk away without a care in the world. if they don't wanna deal with their problem, then i won't bother taking any sort of responsibility. sometimes being shallow is a good thing.

Let's say it *was* a teenager, or someone who acts like one. What would you do? Add to the mix the fact that I actually care about the outcome of such cases, but have enough going on w/my life that I can't take on the additional responsibility situations like this would require.

Well, since I have two teenagers, I am pretty much expert at overlooking it when they are nasty or defensive.

Redundancy is the answer when dealing with incompetence. Make it the business of a team of assclowns, not just one assclown to get it done.
