yes..many reasons...someone who looks extremely ugly, has digusting habits, smells horrible or those who are nasty to other people.

Yes. I worked in a max security psych hospital as a summer intern. Scary, scary mindsets.

I find normal, average ppl benign by comparison. Even very irritating ppl don't really bother me. Its all relative, I guess.

^The instinctive response 'making ones skin crawl' to this is probably more to do with a biologic aversion to illness (b/c we don't want to get sick ourselves). We associate bad smells, looks & 'craziness' with poor health.

and I read somewhere that the phisiological response of "skin crawling" was our version of raising hackles. It's very noticable on animals because of their hair, but we humans just feels the teeny little hairs rising on our skin.

Just thought I'd add that tidbit.

I can overlook ugly, digusting habits and smell, sometimes people can't control those and if they don't have any bad intent they really shouldn't be judged. I feel sorry for them.

My skin crawls when I meet men with these seriously sinister, creepy personalities. They have a weird energy about them that makes you think they'd relish cutting you into little pieces in the back of some pervert-van. ::shudder::

But in all seriousness, I don't think a lot of people realize how painful it is to be described this way. I remember once when I was a sophomore I was eating lunch by myself, just sitting there listening to my CD player, and some girl who was sitting at my table went to another table and when she came back she told me "My friend at that table thinks your creepy and staring at her". I hadn't even noticed her. It felt like I died a little on the inside, not because of that one event but everything adding up.

So I get pissed when Radiohead has a song called "Creep" pretending they know what it feels like

People are just assholes DM. I don't know why that girl even wasted her time saying that to you.

When I was in hs I always had a scowl on my face. I was a pretty miserable girl, I thought everybody was a jerk. I remember hearing comments all the time about how I looked 'scary'. It hurt, but then it just solidified my opinion that people were jerks.

I can relate to that. People stereotype others so quickly these days. I remember a girl sitting next to me and she said that I am shallow and live in my own bubble(she did the stupid bubble hand gesture too, bitch) ...funny thing is I just met her and we just finished a one minute conversation at most. It felt like shit even though I knew she was an idiot.
