| | | For all you "STD-free" people, I hate to break it to you, but many STDs are only diagnosed when you are symptomatic, and you can pass along your disease without knowing you have anything. Think about HPV, for example. Women get it from men who don't have symptoms, and those men are considered "clean".
Don't be a dumbass. Wear a condom.

| | | Get thin condoms. Smaller chance, so hell, take a bigger risk.

| | | I'm not disagreeing (I'm not, I'm not), but I'd like to know how many of you in monogamous LTRs continued to use condoms & for how long.
Somehow, I'm skeptical anyone in a relationship for 2+ years & using BCC is still using a condom consistently.

| | | I do. The only time I didn't was when I was trying to get pregnant.

| | | Interesting. We use a mix of condoms, rhythm & film (I stopped BCC several years ago).
But we're not too worried about pregnancy; pretty fatalistic about it with only one. It wouldn't be a horrible thing. STDs are a non-issue.

| | | My husband insisted way back when... We both work with high-risk populations and body fluids, so it's probably a good idea. Less messy, too, which suits my yuck phobias.

| | | I didn't use them when I was married and on the pill. I use them with my bf now, consistently....although I've been off the pill for awhile. He knows this, and yeah I know it ups my pregnancy risk. But the way I see it is, I'm 28 years old and this is likely the guy I'll spend my life with. So if something does happen, neither of us will exactly be devastated. Actually I've only recently started to feel that old biological clock start ticking. Uh oh!
At my age and circumstance, just using the condom is fine. But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else unless they're in a similar situation. I just couldn't be on birth control anymore, I'd been on it for ten years. Putting that much extra hormone into your body can NOT be good for it. I'm not a fan of putting anything in my body that doesn't need to be there.
