| | | I do it all the time!!
The best thing to do is to stalk them without them knowing...find out everything about this person..eventually you'll either find something you really don't like about them or just plain get bored because this person doesn't surprise you anymore..being that you already know everything there is to know about the person.
It's the healthiest way to deal with an obsession..
Okay, now for the real part of the post.
Yeah, I usually like only one girl at a time and she ends up being pretty exlusive in my heart..or at least hast the undisputed top stop. Usually it doesn't stop until someone else takes her place..but in the mean time I always like to have a favorite girl to think about at night while hugging my pillow. But I guess I don't obsess too much. I definitely don't do anything about it. I hate to force anything..I want it to happen naturally...but yeah, it's tough, because she remains in my mind and hope is always the last thing to die.
I guess my suggestion is: ride it out, time does eventually erode/diminish feelings, but the easier route would be to take interest in someone else, if you can.

--wow, that is a great idea. an obsession is based on the fact that your mind is always on this person but they aren't physically there, so your mind makes up all these dreams or images of this person as an ideal, you don't really see the bad things about this person that would turn you off or drive you crazy, your mind doesn't want to make up those things. but stalking them and finding out every little thing about them until you either get completely sick of them or they do or say something wrong, you could completely be over the person and move on. that's it, the end of obsession, the beginning of serial stalking... | |

| | | Seriously? Surely you can see the difference between obsession and love? Obsession is unhealthy, it's a compulsive preoccupation with something or someone, often with anxiety associated... I assume I dont have to explain the definition of 'love'...

There's a difference between being in a relationship and in love with someone and watching from afar and thinking youre in love, I dont know which you are in; there's a difference between the 'obsession' I presume you are referring to in a relationship where you spend a lot of time thinking about your OH and the unhealthy obsession as described above.

You know the definition of love?! holy crap...! Tell me. This has been resloved and concluded as a relative meaning on philosophy forums. Since you know though...share it please.
