Thread: Hello from a shy newbie

Hello all. Just a quick post to let you all know a bit about myself. I have suffered from shyness and social anxiety for a long time. They led to the breakup of my marriage, which in turn led to me taking an overdose 18 months ago and ending up in a psychiatric ward for 8 days. One of the first tyings I did when I came out was to set up a support website for shy/ socially anxious people called 'SHY United'. The site has forums, chatroom, weblogs, music, poetry and is a safe, positive place for like minded people to meet and share experiences.
