Nope, I picked Riyko because it's the name of a character in a story I wrote a while back.

I spelt it differently because it makes it a more unique name.

@ Gigabitch: kind of, some people say it as Rie - ko (where the y makes an e sound) or re-co (like the spanish rico).

@ Illusional: Nope i'm not Japanese, but i've been interested in Japanese history and culture since I was really little.

so what brought about an interest in the japanese culture??

My grandma (mom's mom) when I was little she'd tell me stories about japan and my aunt who lived over there. Seeing the pictures and telling me the stories made me want to go to japan to visit.

I got more into the history and the culture the more I learned and read about it.

so i'm going to guess that you're atleast "part" japanese then??

Actually it's possible that I could be part japanese (my grandma and 3 of my aunts look japanese).
