| | Hmmm... I graduated from a Protestant school actually. I had to be a goody-two-shoes, lol. BUT - I'm still a really good girl, actually! Girls just like to have fun
About anxiety disorder - the only way to overcome it is to face it. I had an anxiety disorder, but I've been forced to socialize with so many people at once on many different occasions in life that it sort of became my favorite thing to do. It's like a rollercoaster ride: you're scared, you're freaking out but you love it!
Here's a couple suggestions: go to conferences, conventions...alone! Then try to make as many friends as possible. You'll love it. Besides, how do you expect to act if people freak you out? Gotta do something about it. Living a sheltered life isn't as exciting as living on the edge!

| | | I think there is nothing wrong with your current lifestyle if you truly are happy with it. In my case, I was just doing things because that was the "right" and "honorable" thing to do, but those weren't necesssarily my preferences. Like I said, I love my fam and don't regret spending time with them, but I have a big interest in the social scene and I always had a desire and curiosity toward it, but I felt that staying at home and just having fun with the family was the best approach lest I be tempted with the increasingly sinful and decadent ways society was headed. This was very much self imposed, too. My family was never against me going out..just that I was lead in a direction and being so ambitious, I took it upon myself to excel what I thought was weight into my value as a human being, so I took it to extremes.
But I'm all for you continuing to do what makes you happy.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
The other side of the argumen, however, is that you miss out on something new. It's always good to diversify your experiences. You never know what a candybar tastes like until you try it. For all you know it's a big turd in a Baby Ruth wrapper. Different experiences broaden you horizons and there is no knowledge that is not power.

| | Well I suppose I have been getting better at dealing with my anxiety. Actually I think I'm more of a thrill seeker than most people give me credit for. I don't like partying or the club scene, but I'll pick up at a moments notice and move across the country to spend time with a man I've only talked to online and on the phone just for the experience. So, I'm not so tightly buckled down that I never do anything... I suppose it just comes down to the fact that I enjoy being home over being in a big crowd! | |

| | | yeah as nomas said, as long as you're happy, that is what really matters. you're only young once, so have your fun while it last. however if you always feel young, then you can always party. oh shit... the other night we went clubbing and i couldnt' believe my eyes. i was actually the youngest ones there. it was a club that was 23+ and literally around 11pm, i seen an elder couple having dinner at the bar tables. now get this, the appeared to be in their 50's, atleast. yes you heard right.. isn't that crazy?? raverboy

| | | Yeah, it is a pretty cool forum now. It used to be just Illusional, though. Then came Killerbabe. And then our mighty Zekk_T_Strife.

| | | Yeah, I'm learning to be more picky and smell out the ones I'll be interested in vs the ones not.

| | | Yeah I've been involved in enough relationship forums to know that I'm only gonna look into topics where I'm going to have something to say. If I have no interest in it, I don't read it. | |
