Confused
Well first off I might as well say hello and introduce myself.
Call me Restless, I'm kind of a girly guy. Love chick flicks and I mean I do love them which is weird. Before Sunrise/Sunset are my favourites and then follows Sleepless in Seattle. I'm considerate of the people around me towards the little things and even the large things.

I seem impulsive to the people around me but most of it is planned. I guess its stalkerish to listen to what people around you say and act on it no? I have issues with family and stuff but rarely confide in those around me and even then its only part of the picture.

Well theres these twins I go to school with and it seems I'm falling. Currently I'm good friends with them and their friends. We meetup in the morning and walk home after school. Lets call one of them A and the other B. I'm not sure anymore whats going on.

I'm falling for A but then I try to cover myself by looking out for B more than I have to. B is really superficial and always spends about 10 mins before class looking the mirror (her locker is beside mine). While A is somewhat like that but far less, maybe about a minute. I don't fit the "type" of guy they like look wise (Hairstlye mostly and I'm not changing it). But then again, I'm not sure at all of anything. When I catch either one of their eyes I get a bright smile back at me. Recently I was asked by each of them on separate occasions if I would be attending an event after school. I've never been and I'm not sure if I should go.

I guess I'm looking for advice on what to do in general. Give up on them? Go to the event or not? Is it worth fighting for? Should I just accept where I am with them? I also have something nice planned as their mothers brithday is coming up. Would it be weird for me to give the mother a gift? (Their mother's life has been hard and sort of reminds me of my mother's life)

Toss a coin about pursuing the girls, but don't give the mom a birthday gift. It is inappropriate to give "pity" gifts.

After reading the first paragraph, I could swear you were going to ask us if you were gay or not.

Lol, I've gotten the gay comment a few times before.

And the gift isn't a pity gift. Its more like this. Once on the bus we were discussing some random stuff and watches came up and the two of them were commenting on how they had sport watches but never girly ones to wear to like weddings and shit. So I got them some decent watches and their mother was jealous about that they had such a nice friend or something. Anyways I remember A mentioning something about how her mom would end up "stealing" hers from time to time. So I was thinking of getting her some CK watch on her birthday.

Well maybe that is considered a pity gift?

I don't *get* moms that are jealous of their daughter's good fortune, if you really mean what you say. That is distasteful.

Well, not seriously "jealous" but jokingly. But is it as easy as flipping a coin?

PS: To clarify the pity thing, its respect not pity.

Aye dude seriously, they probably think you are gay. If they think that then odds are they are always going to be nice to you, and somewhat forward as they believe there is no risk in being flirtatious with you.

Dude honestly I think you are being wayyy to nice to them if you want to go out with A. Girls often consider guys like that good friends yet they won't go out with them till their mid 20s. I'm guessing you are arond 16-18 and girls at that age do not go for the really nice guys. But don't be a jerk by all means.

For the record are you trying to buy them or something? Just honestly getting nice watches for 2 people who are just friends is not only costly but it comes accross to me as being somewhat desperate and needy. No offense intended.

Sorry, but that's how I see it after reading everything else you've written.

Your best bet: get them drunk and live out the "twins" fantasy.

I'm well off, so money isn't exactly an issue. They don't ask for anything and its not like I give gifts out all the time. So no I'm not trying to "buy" them. Even before I started giving gifts it was a good thing between us, I believe its the little things that happen every day to people that brighten their day regardless of who it is.

Meh, I'm just gonna leave it as is. If A can't come around I'll leave her to her daydream delusions. It's not my place. I'll just help where I can.
