OK girls; lay it on the line, what is the meaning behind playing with the hair?

I have seen, this, and after reading some threads here, men are suppose to notice a girly doing this, to indicate that they are flirting with us.

I don't know, I don't flip my hair. Sometimes I play with it when I'm really bored.

I don't think women are conscious of it when they are doing it, although I have read that it is a flirtation technique, too. I keep meaning to try to notice if I am doing it when I am talking to a handsome man, but honestly, I always forget.

Ahh, it drives me crazy when girls constantly play with their hair. What's worse, though, is when they wrap it around their fingers and knot it over and over. It distracts me. There are better ways to get a guy's attention. Playing with your hair just makes you look 12 years old, in my opinion.

Well that's just rude. I play with my hair all the time as a nervous habit......I don't even know I'm doing it. I tend to flip it on occasion too because it's long and gets blown in my face often.

There's nothing wrong with flipping it when it gets in your face, I do it too. And as a nervous habit, eh whatever. I'm talking girls who play with their hair so they look cute.

Whatever I do with my hair I do unintentionally or just as a matter of course. Do I do it more when I'm talking with a cute guy or flirting? I don't really know....

Yeah, I've done it in front of guys lots of times without thinking about it. I hope they didn't think I was doing it to flirt with them, because I wasn't.

Hmmm

I think girls do it subconciously and not as a specific flirting method. I.e. it could just be a habbit of dealing with nervousness or a preocupation technique. I guess sometimes, they may do it to disguies any other trait that may give away how they really feel at that point in time. But, I wouldn't read too much into it.
