To give a Christmas Present or not? - Love Forum

My situation:

So I'm a senior in high school, and I was wondering if I could get some advice. There's this girl I like that I've only got to talk to a little bit but she knows I like her (thanks to secret telling friends). I don't know if she likes me back because I don't see her enough during the day to talk to her. I was thinking about getting her a rose, or something else that would be nice. Do you think it would be a smart thing to do or would this be wierd and too much for the circumstances?
You guys always know best so holla whenever!

spend time with her...maybe even ask her out. save the rose for later.

When I was in school, at Christmas time we could send each other "Candy-grams" and it was organized through the student government.

It was great cuz you could send a candygram to someone and make it anonymous or not and say whatever you wanted on the message.

Anyone, you could give her your own "candy-gram" !!

The rose thing is dumb, sorry, if you've never spoken to her. I'd bag the present all together and focus on getting to know her. You're going to look like a schmuck if you get her something and she doesn't even want to give you the time of day.

See I gave roses to an ex-girlfriend and she practically died on the spot. It worked very well for me, but "peoples is like snowflakes".

Yeah I wouldn't do a rose at this point either. But you did say that she knows that you like her. You can get her a gift, just make it light hearted and fun. Get her a teddy bear or something and just say that you were out and about and was thinking about her.

Confidence goes a long way, every contact you have with women you like does not have to be all serious. Some people say "don't get a gift" but if your confident about it then go for it. just make it fun and not an "I love you thing" In fact it should usually be light hearted and fun, not all "you’re my girl and I’m your man" If you want to get her a gift then fine, go for it, just be cool about it and don't try to make it mean a whole lot.

I think a high school girl (a nice one, anyway) would like getting a rose. It is more about the idea that a guy was thinking about her. Or, you could make the gift more generic by handing them out to a few girls you know (friends) at the same time.

I still think you should get to know her more..who knows she may not be interested. But then again even a christmas card would be thoughtful, if you were to do something.

if you want to ruin your chances with her, sure give her a Christmas present. I can already see what happens... "thanks for the gift, I like you as a friend now."
