Need to Distance Self

How do you distance yourself from a guy? I realize now that I can never be with him but I can't seem to distance myself from him. Mind you my school is very small so I'm bound to run into him but how can I make it clear that I don't like him anymore?

for a start you have to be clear about it yourself. then you won't find it difficult to let him know as well.
