He may or may not be. Who knows? What difference does it make what WE think? He will do what he wants, anyway.

I went on a date a week after a girl and I broke up after 4 years.

It's not going to be serious, but I think people should stay out of my business when it comes to stuff like this...and if he's ready, he's ready. Leave him alone.

1. Maybe he's not rushing. Maybe he found something.
2. Maybe he got over it.
3. Maybe he and the girl are just having fun.
4. Maybe they're NOT close to "official".
5. Maybe this is how he copes.

There's a LOT more options than "rushing" into things.

It depends on how much got worked out before the breakup. For some people, breaking up is a terrible shock coming out of the blue. For others, there can be years of contemplation and processing before they finally make the move, and they may be ready to move on the day after they end it.

Your sentence structure is horrible.

Anyway, 5 months isn't what I would consider rushing.

You're acting as if more time spent with a person requires more spent single.

Doesn't work like that.

Now if it was only a few weeks, then I'd be curious.
