I'm really confused

Well, there was this one girl I had my eyes on, but I started also becoming really interested in one of my friends I met around the beginning of the school year. And for once, I like this friend of mine for her kind heart and stuff like that, not for her appearance. This friend of mine had been telling me about how much she liked this guy, but then told me she might like someone else as well. After badgering her for a while, she told me that she sorta likes....me. I'd been trying not to like her, since I thought I'd like someone else more....but now, I'm not sure. I don't know who I have true feelings for, and whether my friend would just choose this other guy over me.

Any thoughts, advice, or anything from personal experience?

Why don't you go on a date or two with this girl and see what develops? You don't have to decide anything right away, you know.
