Hello my name is anna, this is my first post here

well there is this guy I met about 6 1/2 months ago on a church trip, then he moved awey. While i was getting to know him, i realized what a great guy he was and i like him very very much. Anyway, but I still talk to him through e-mail once in a while, and i have reason to beleive he could like me too. But I have also heard that infatuation is weakened by time apart, but love is strengthed by time apart. It's been over 5 1/2 months since I last saw him, and i love him more than i did when he left, and i miss him so horribly. I am 17 1/2. Do you think its' unusual for someone as young as me to feel this way? I mean, to still love him this much even though we've spent so much time apart, and I won't see him until next summer? Actualy I'm not really sure what I mean...but I dunno...it kindof just seems like it's weird, for me, because every guy i've liked before, if i go more than 2 weeks without seeing him, I lose my feelings. You dont have to reply if you don't want to, but I just wanted to get my thoughts out in words instead of in my head...

Anna, it does little good to post your full name, but avoid telling us your age. Why don't you go back and delete your name, and tell us your age?

You've attached yourself to an idea, not a person. It's safe to go apeshit over him, because he won't be here disappointing you, annoying you and trying to get in your pants. What could be more perfect for a girl your age than a guy who isn't there?

Go with it. Get all romantic and nutso, because it's better to do that from afar than right up close.

The simple act of trying to get in a girl's pants it's actually pretty fun, regardless of whether you do or not.

However, blueballs isn't so much fun...

I can see how it would be.

For me it is kind of just tryin' to see how far I can go, but with no real intention on going all the way. Of course I know this, but she wouldn't.

Does that make any sense?

Anna, I think these feelings are normal for a girl your age, and as Giga pointed out, it might end up being a GOOD thing he lives so far away. Enjoy your crush while it lasts, which will probably be until about a week after you get to see him next summer. Nothing squashes your fantasies as much as a healthy dose of reality.
