I usually use something like "Hi, my name is ____". Or if I'm feeling really daring I may go with "hey, how's it going?"

lol. Here's where MVP could share upon us some wisdom. Last Friday that girl used one on me. We got into a conversation and she said, "Excuse me while I get a glass of water." So I asked her to get me one too and she said, "I'll do that for you on condition. That I get your name and number by the end of the night." That wasn't too bad. Not great, but not too bad. Threw me off cause I'm not used to the female being more of the 'aggressor' at any scene.
