"see where it goes"

I've known this girl for a little over a week. We met in a really funny, kind of romantic way, but I won't go into detail here. We've been hanging out a lot and I really like her. She let's me put my arm around and that kind of stuff, plus she rests her head on my chest when we're laying around watching movies.

So a cpl days ago one of my friends asks me what's going on between me and her and I really wasn't sure what to tell him. So last night I took her aside and just asked what she thinks about 'us'. She took a second and then said that we should just "see where it goes". I kind of nodded, put my hand on her cheek and kissed her. Just a little kiss on the lips, nothing much really.

Now I've been mulling over that phrase all night. What exactly does "see where it goes" mean? Is it all just too soon for her? Or is she just trying to not get my hopes up so she doesn't hurt me later? I'd really appreciate some female points-of-view on this but guys can respond too. Thanks!

I say just keep on chillin', but know that it's not yet 'exclusive'. Seems like all signs are "go" so far.
