Ok, sticky situation...
I have been dating this guy for about a year and 8 months now. We have a great relationship and are very much in love with each other. However, he was very hurt in a previous relationship in which he had completely changed to please her. He had turned into a complete doormat for her to walk on. Now, in our relationship, he is far from a doormat, and has let me know several times that it will take him a while to change for another girl. I don't expect him to change for me, I appreciate and respect him just the way he is. I just feel like sometimes, he really wants to be with his ex again, and sometimes feel like he may never want to be really close with fears of getting hurt again. I understand where he is coming from, but sometimes I get sad because I am willing to give my all for this relationship and give all I have, and I know that he is unwilling to do the same. Its a weird feeling to know that one side is giving more than the other. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
