From what I've read, it sounds like he's the dream of your life and you can't let him go!
If that's the case, sorry to make it dramatic for you but then you have to live and put up with his shi*&$@# everyday .... yah, that's right -- day in and day out dude!
My suggestion --- sorry again, but break-up is the only answer in your case, cause I think you've tried everything in the book.
The break-up will do good for him...and you're doing the right thing for him --- you're actually helping him, ie like how to be a gentleman.
