I feel that when you give up on the promise of love, it can become self fulfilling. It can be difficult to overcome pain, but I belive that you respect yourself more by having such strength and others can tend to respect you more as you respect yourself. Be fair to yourself and others. These things seem to tend to self fulfill, it seems to me.
