Her Ex... what should I do?

We've been together for a month. Her ex of 1 year still calls. They've been apart for 4 months. He sounds like a real winner as he used to beat her and such. He was the typical guy she would date though--I am her opposite as is she to me. (We've known each other for 5 years)

He calls her at least 2x a day plus texting (messaging).

She says they are just friends. She says he still wants her. She, of course, tells me she doesn't want him but sees nothing wrong with being friends.

When we first started dating she said he would eventually go away. I now find out that she doesn't really do anything to discourage it. She didn't even tell him about me until two weeks later. She hesitated out of fear. Even though he has a new girlfriend, when he learned of me, he threatened to kill my girlfriend saying he couldn't believe she was doing that, etc.

So after he called two nights ago, I basically said he goes or I go. She said she shouldn't have to choose.

Thoughts? Opinions?

now.. she must REALLY be a stupid hoe if he BEAT her and she still is friends with him.

i hate to tell you.. but she wants him too and might even be ****in' around on you.


and if you're REALLY into getting back at her, just cheat on her RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. then dump her on the spot for being stupid.

Although I agree with LTsK8er2gO not harshly but you should give her some breathing room see what she does if you explain that you are serious and don't make yourself available for awhile not cut yourself off from her but make it so that she calls you and realizes that what she is doing may not be in her best interests if she continues the way she is

Told her him or me. She said I just don't understand. Then she tries to play off his abuse as not that big of deal. "He didn't really hit me, he pushed me around." Then she says that it was her fault because she brought it on herself. She said things between them are different now.

I told her it's over.

No big loss really.

Ugh, I can't believe you listened to a 14 yr old without getting more opinions from both sides of the situation.

Though, I think you should have looked this through more. This girl was in a long and abusive relationship. She was hurt physically and emotionally. She was told that she was nothing without him. Then she finally makes the right decision by getting rid of him. Yet she is still haunted by him because he keeps harrasing her. She does not know better. She plays it down, even though she is hurting inside. In my opinion you just did the same thing her ex did. You gave her an altimatum. You made her feel low of herself. You did not help her with her problems of her ex, you just made her feel worse about them. Maybe she is better off without you afterall.
