First Date Question

I am taking this woman out on a first date. (to dinner) this someone who i've know for a while. Kind of a friend of a friend thing. her birthday is the next day after our date. what is appropriate for me to give for a gift? a card? nothing at all? aren't flowers kind of cheesy expecially on a first date?

A card is a safer option.

I agree that flowers are the best bet. If you know one of her friends, see if they know what her favorite flowers are.

You can leave the gift for later when you know her better, that way you can get her a gift that is suited to her likes.

if you want something more htat be just a friend, a rose would be a good present (red rose) if white rose are the ones she likes, tell her that next dinner you'll offer a white rose
If you don't really know her, a simple card it surely the safer approach
