A teen's worst enemy: the mother
So, I met this girl. She was awesome, pretty, fun, and all that good stuff. We were in the school's spring musical together. We sat together whenever we had a break during rehearsals and whenever else we saw each other through the school day. On the opening night of the show, I presented her with flowers, and asked her out, and to my delight, she accepted.
We became very close, very fast. A solid high school relationship, the kind my peers aren't so ready to commit to. I kept urging to see more of her, and we continued to become closer.
However, recently her relationship with her family hasn't been so well. Her mother has come to the conclusion that she needs to rekindle her relationship with the family, and apparently in this scheme, there is no room for a boyfriend.

So, in short, her mother told her that she has to get rid of the boyfriend or pretty much be outcasted from the family. So she went ahead and "broke up" with me, which means we're still together, but we won't be able to spend time together outside of school functions, and even then, we can't act like we're a couple. If her sister sees us together, she tells mom, and then we're ruined.

Now, am I the only one that thinks that her mother is psychotic? I know mothers can be protective, but this is just beyond reason. I mean, I know, teenage guys with their evil penises of doom don't ever want to form an actual, real, true relationship with girls, apparently, but there's no way that she can just go ahead and say, "You're not allowed to have a boyfriend, now."
Anyone think that she is completely insane, or am I the crazy one?

No - she's not insane. Sorry, I don't blame her. She's too young for such intensity.

Completely insane? No... Over the top? Yes.

Should you two see each other still? Yes if that is what you both want.

Dont be afraid of being outcast from your family, that is their choice not to support you.

I'm sure the mother just isn't ready to accept that her daughter is in a relationship. The best thing to do is have your girlfriend have a mature conversation with her mother. That is the only way that she will recognize that her daughter is growing up.

Hope that helps!

Hah!

No, she was in tears.

And besides, we're not broken up. There could be no way she'd want to break up. She was far too happy with me, and considering that she said she wouldn't walk away from me for the world...

All good signs.

Good comments in here.

I agree with still staying together and your g/f having a mature convo with her mother. Good luck, keep us updated!
