What do you think about this?

Been dating a guy for a while. We had a good but strange date last night.
I say strange because it was less playful and seemed very conversation-based, as though he was really trying to "get down to the brass tacks" a bit with regards to topics, etc.

We were out all night for dinner, then out for a walk then to see some jazz and then he walked me home......we've been physical in the past, and since it was a weeknight I didn't necessarily expect anything cuz he gets up really early, but I didn't even get a kiss goodnight. He walked me home, a nice hug, and that was that. Now, we were out on the street and truth be told we're both kinda uncomfortable with public displays of affection and he even moreso than I.

He is certainly more serious than me in general and at one point he brought up the topic about living with someone (not he and I but in general) . . . and I guess I just don't do very well in these situations because I managed to shut the conversation down.

Anyhow, just wondering if I should be at all concerned about the way we said goodbye and if its an indicator of other things and hmmm....I don't know!

Could be anything from the info provided. If there's been a gap since last date, he could just be shy and wondering if it's still on. Did he seem just as interested in you otherwise?

Yes, there's been a gap since the last date (we've both been really busy). We have been talking on the phone lots however.

Otherwise, yes, he did seem interested. Like I say, he does tend towards the serious and I shy away from it....as far as topics of conversations go, etc. Or at least that was his mode last night. Yet, he is still shy in bringing stuff up (of course).

Funny...had there been a kiss, even just a peck....I wouldn't have thought anything about any of it. I would've thought we had had an absolutely wonderful date, lots of talking and sharing and that we were getting a little bit deeper into our relationship even.

And there weren't any other signals that he was not as interested? How long have you dated, and when you say you've been physical (I don't mean to dig into your privacy here), was that just a snog or something more?

How would you describe him?
