| | | Anybody speak portuguese? Help. My bf was recently spending a lot of time with an old friend from Brazil (a girl). He hung out with her everyday for a week and a half (with other people) until she went back home (he hadn't seen her in like 5 years). In that week though, he never introduced us, and she would call him several times a day. Since she left, they've been talking on msn every single night. She's been calling him FROM BRAZIL like every second day.
Then today, a package came to our house for him, and since we don't have any secrets, I opened it (we open each other's mail frequently). It was a gift from her from Brazil for his birthday, and the note inside read "To my namorado.."
Now, from looking it up in the portuguese dictionary she left behind, it translated in there to 'boyfriend' or 'love interest'. Freaked me out. I'm just wondering if anyone speaks portuguese and could tell me if this could also be a friendly term, and if I'm panicking for no reason. | | | Yeah, I know a little bit of both, which is why that word struck a chord with me immediatly.
God help him if has done/is doing anything stupid. I will dump his ass without a second thought.

| | | These kind of things are always humorous until somebody from the group gets involved...
Well at least I think they're funny...

| | | Doesn't sound good blue ):
Hope everything works out... if it is as bad as it sounds then it's really his loss - you're an attractive, smart, and sweet woman, you won't have any trouble meeting someone who isn't going to screw up like this jerkoff.

| | | Sounds like "love interest" to me, blue. That doesn't mean he reciprocates the feelings, though. But he should have introduced you if there was nothing but friendship between them two..

| | | Ok, so update.
When he came home, I didn't say anything, I just let him look at it, pretending I hadn't read anything at all. I asked him who it was from. He said "Oh, it looks like it's from my friend in Brazil!" and he opened it, it was some stupid book. He even gave me the card to read. So then I was like "Why the hell does she refer to you as 'namarado'?" And he's like..."I don't know. What does that mean anyway?" (My bf doesn't know a word of portuguese). So I told him and he was like "Ohhhhhhh. I don't know. She's just like that, I guess."
Then he said "It's ok to love your friends, though. I'm sure you love your friends, guys and girls." So I said "Yeah...." and he smiled at me and said "I lov all my close friends. It doesn't matter though, I love you way more. And your birthday present to me was far better than this, whatever it is!"
He's off the hook....for now. Keeping a vigilant eye. | |

| | | Unfortunately, I am saddled with one of those guys that every girl he meets seems to end up liking him. Yes, its flattering, but it also gets a bit taxing on the brain wondering which one of his girl 'friends' is trying to work him into a compromising position! | |

| | | Well it's an obvious ego over-inflator. But, lik your bf does, he always assures me that they've got nothing on me. Ah well, I suppose I could always be dating some ugly dorkass that nobody wanted. | | Loveforum Breaktime | | | | Loveforum also recommend - Green tea - Help in weight loss and decrease rate of getting cancer.
