Why won't she talk to me?
I'm confused about this girl. We went out on 2 dates that went great, but we lost touch for the last few weeks of summer, and now that school is back she's acting really weird. For the first two weeks of school we didn't say anything to each other, but from little things she did I got the impression that she wanted to, like saying hi to me in the hallway, and following me with her eyes when I passed her in a class, etc. But when I did it seemed like she didn't feel much like talking to me at all. And now when we pass each other in the hallway, she very very rarely acknowledges that I'm there, even though she smiled whenever she saw me last year. She never speaks or acknowledges my presence in either of the classes we have together.

I've decided not the look at her as a romantic interest anymore, but I still want her to be my friend, but I think she may hate me for some reason.

I hate that.
I talked to a girl a few times. It wasn't necessarily romantic, but she was nice.
After that whenever I saw her she would just look at me, and turn away before I got the chance to say hi ro anything.
It was a little annoying.
Oh well.

Yeah but this girl and I had grown to become fairly close, and we have almost EXACTLY the same tastes in everything, its kindof eerie, but its still very cool. But if I keep talking like this my feelings will start to resurface before I have gotten rid of them...

I know what you mean--from a girl's point of view, I have a *friend* who keeps doing this to me--After calling me and getting together for hours for about eight months, he stopped being so "friendly"--then I see him again in class after the summer and it takes him a week to actually stop and chat with me--a few times now he's stayed with me for over an hour before class; on wednesday we had a great conversation--now today I see him and he just says "I'll see you later"--what the $#% is that?

Are they toying with us because they know something . . .?

I think I may have a possible reason why she stopped talking to me. Today, after some homecoming events, I started walking to my car and ended up walking with some friends of mine. Well one of these friends is a close friend of the girl, and he made a few comments about me being a pothead, and he seemed convinced that this was the truth, which its not. Well the thing is that this girl is quite anti-drug and anti-drinking. It would make since that someone could tell him that I am a pothead, because I was just a few years ago, before I turned straight-edge. Also I'm pretty sure me and this guy are competing for the girl, so malicious action on his part is possible.

So the guy that told the girl you were a pothead is one of your friends? Why would he cawk-block you like that? I'd have a little talk with him about saying that to her, especially if it's false. That may be the reason she doesn't seem interested in talking to you as much anymore.

Maybe she and you stopped talking because at a point, she did like you more than a friend, but she didn't want to be the one to make the move or say anything. You just took too long on doing the same so she got frustrated and gave up on you.

If you miss her, call her and talk to her. Just make it casual at first. "Hi, what you doin?" Blah blah make conversation. Just tell her you miss talking to her and you two should do something this weekend or whatever.

YOU'RE the guy so just talk to her. At least you won't be able to say you didn't try if she still seems uninterested. Give it another shot.
