| A Broken Valentine- My first poem This is the first real poem that I have ever written in my life, so please bear with me if it's not too good. What makes this poem special to me is it describes the real feelings I have for this girl I know and the words describe exactly the problems I am currently having with her not really knowing I exist.
In other words, it's based on real life experiences I've had. I was just sitting at home the other day thinking about this girl and this is what came to mind.
So here goes:

A Broken Valentine

I have fallen so hard for this girl
in my first period class, but alas,
she hardly knows I exist
I did not foresee my life taking such a twist.
Why do I falter?
Why do I fail, why did I once again fall?
Why don't I ever say anything to her at all?
Why does she still not even know my name.
For me, this is more than just some silly little game.
I hear from her friends that she thinks I'm lame and far too tame,
even though she doesn't really know me and doesn't really want to.
I ask God what can I do
To make her feel the same way that I do
There is no single answer
but to pull myself out of this dark hole I've fallen in
That once looked so bright, as if everything would be all right.
The brightness was a lie, now I have seen the true light.
How she really feels about me, is dark, cold spiteful
To think, I once thought she was so delightful.
This hole I've fallen in has since grown dim and black,
and no love, not even mine, can penetrate it.
This hole, once lit with love and perhaps once blessed with God's magic from above.
This magic called love.
