acceptance, anguish, renewal.
A portrait of life and sentiment
captured in fleeting instances,
in which to reveal the soul of the
characters and perhaps, of the audience.
A compelling style, capable of
touching the reader and evoking
emotions and reflection, where content
is captured by single words and meanings
become immediate and powerful.
And in the end, a unique and
unexpected conclusion, bound to make
the reader wonder what love truly is.

Riccardo Giovanni was born in Rome in
1969 and spent his early years in Milan
and Nice. He received undergraduate
and graduate degrees in Boston.
Further to poetry, he has also explored
the media of photography,finding success
in a number of solo gallery exhibitions.
As with his writing, his photography
frequently portrays veiled references to
the female body, shadows of emotions
and a sense of loss.
Most of the poems in this collection
were written during the years that
Giovanni lived in New York City.
He currently divides his time between
the mountains of western Panamá and
Rio De Janeiro.
