Scraps (work in progress..)

First time I have been able to sit down and write something lengthy for a long while. I've debated posting it or not. I either have to share it on here or with my friends, because I am a paranoid. And of course, I am always worried that someone will steal it. I have a lot to share, but I am scared that people will just take it as their own. I figure this, in its incomplete state, is merely nothing worth stealing... so here it is, edited what I have so far. Curious what people think, so please share.

tonight is peaceful magenta
and i am living the past
as the silent consonants of your whispers
slide off the roof

careless that my coat is wet
feeling like a homeless dog
wondering if people would still swim in the river
with the scars from the drought beneath the water
