How

I walk,
The anger blinding me,
I can't believe this talk,
How could she do this to me?

I stare at the picture,
It sits on the desk,
I begin to read her scripture,
The lies grow grotesque,

All the lies,
I didn't see,
My heart slowly dies,
How could she do this to me?

I sit and stare,
My eyes fill with disbelief,
She stands there,
Her eyes filled with grief,

"I'm sorry," she smiles,
I don't know what to say,
"It's been awhile,"
I start to move away,

I walk to the door,
The sadness rising in me,
I don't want to talk to this whore,
How could she do this to me?

My head tells me to stay,
My heart tells me to leave,
I don't want it to happen this way,
How could I have been so naive?

I run out of the house,
She runs after me,
The wind blowing her blouse,
She issues her one final plea,

I know I was wrong,
I was so lost,
It's been to long,
I can't bear the cost,

I look at her one final time,
The emotions rising in me,
Words begin to climb,
How could you do this to me?

I run to the car,
I don't care where I go,
My heart begins to scar,
It's hard to see through the snow,

I try to think,
My mind is numb,
I dare to blink,
Where did this pain come from?

I swerve,
It's to late,
I hit the curb,
So this is my fate.

I hit a tree,
I don't know what happened,
It's the last thing I see,
I know, I was abandoned,
How could she do this to me?

Sunset

We stare across the ocean blue
The sun nothing more than a flame
I sing softly to you
Whispering your name

I look into your eyes
They seem to tell it all
Amazing how time goes by
As the stars begin to fall

My love shall never fade
I will forever be here
In this world we've made
As we hold each other near

There's anything I'd give
Anything I'd do
As long as I never have to live
Another day without you.

Retrospect

As I look upon this day
I smile on the past
Happy that things turned out this way
I hope it’s going to last

All I think about is you
I remember the day we met
One of the lucky few
I don’t want to go home just yet

You are my one, my only
The one who captured my heart
Because of you I’m no longer lonely
And I never want to be apart

I can’t wait until tomorrow
All the things that are to be
My soul no longer hollow
You’ll never know how much you mean to me.

Death of Innocence

These thoughts in me
Played out before my eyes
I’m beginning to see
This is why I cry

There’s no one here
Just me alone
No one to ease my fear
If only I was home

I have nowhere to go
Nowhere to stay
There’s no one I know
That can make this go away


Through all the pain
I’m beginning to lose sight
My heart just can’t contain
The end of all that’s right

If only I knew
Which way to run
Then maybe I’d make it through
And out of the darkness I’d come

Is it even worth it?
What can I possibly do?
This life is far from perfect
It’s beginning to cloud my view

I’ll find someplace to stay
I’ll make it out alive
Just another day
If only I can survive

The emotional battles that never end
Trying as hard as I can
My broken heart just won't mend
Just trying to be a better man

What is it you want from me?
Do you even care?
I'm just beginning to see
You were never even there

I'm so alone right now
All I need is you
I'll figure it out somehow
Just like I always do

Life goes on I suppose
I hide my secrets deep
You're the only one who knows
The reasons I can't sleep

It will all end soon
I'll be gone without a trace
I'll sing my sorry tune
Proving myself disgraced

I wanted you to recognize
No matter what they say
Look closely into my eyes
I'll make it back someday

They are good yes. Very cliche, but at the same time people will call human emotion cliche. The point they don't seem to understand however, is that it's emotion in your words, and in your eyes.

I look at my poetry as a reflection of both myself and the world around me, I share it with others...but how I feel about it is what matter most.
