I don't understand how people can willingly go to a movie knowing it contains torture and ****ed up gory scenes and stomach it. I think some filmmakers sick idea of entertainment should be kept in their twisted little brains. It's sad that so many people have become desensitized to watching this crap. I'm not, and I don't ever want to be. It means a decent part of me has been shut off.

The worst part is realizing this stuff does happen out there in the world, there are evil people out there that fantasize about mutilating other people and some actually do it. To watch it for entertainment is just.....I don't know. Not right.

I saw it!
I saw it last night. There's alot of naked people, boobs, blood, torture devices and guts. I don't know... BOOBS AND CHAIN SAWS don't mix well in one movie. Anyway, to me it wasn't THAT gory... but it was pretty gross. Overall it wasn't a good movie.

the human race itself lives for blood, violence and gore. why do you think wrestling and UFC makes so much money?? people love to see others in fuct up situations. alright, on a lesser note, think back to all those reality tv shows...how many of you have watched survivor or fear factor?? it's the same bullshit when they have to eat some sick rotten carcass or remain for 5 mintues under a huge pile of spiders from a cave that only god has heard of...reguardless of the degree of the material, people love to sit back and watch others suffer.

There's a big difference in watching someone in a CONTROLLED situation and watch them freak out while spiders crawl over them that can't hurt them, and watching a film that features people being tied up and tortured in the most brutal manners.

Your right Tone, there is a difference. Watching someone "freak out while spiders crawl over them" is a REAL person in REAL LIFE. Watching a film that features people being tied up & tortured is FAKE. Yeah it could happen in real life & there are sick minded people out there who would do it, but watching a film that features this is pure entertainment.

And someone can't think less of someone who actually watch these types of movies for entertainment. It's not "sick" or "twisted" to think these movies are interesting/entertaining because they are JUST MOVIES. NO ONE in the right mind would sit there & watch someone do this to someone in REAL LIFE. Just like no one would sit there & watch someone get zapped like in War of the Worlds in real life.. get eating by dinosaurs in Jurassic Park in real life... or even watch Mufasa get run over by the stampeed of antelope in real life.

Raver boy is right.. people love to see people in f*ed up situations, especially when it's NOT REAL.

Exactly - do you see some of the twisted shit you can find on the internet? I do - not cause I want to but I have a friend who's always downloading the nastiest shit and showing us.

Anyways - sure the majority of people out there are just going for entertainment, the LARGE majority - but it does make you wonder how many sick and twisted ****s out there leave the theater with all sorts of new "ideas".

here's the sh*t, alright so last night i seen this movie and as i walked out of it, i thought it was very gruesome. yes it is very bloody and it basically is sick shit. as tone said, this movie was inspired by true events and it really does make you think. this does happen outside and probably inside the US. people can be very sick when they put their minds to it, look at joeffery domer (sp).

remember that 17 year old girl that went on a trip with her class roughly last summer?? she went to some country and no one knows what happened to her. she disappearred on the night before she was supposed to return home. could this have possibly happened to her?? hrmm...
