With Tom Hanks. Anyone see it?

Can someone explain how at the end, when he delivers the package ( ), and says this "saved his life", what the hell he meant? TIA

I loved this movie.

It's such a great metaphor for life... no matter how bad a situation you think you're in... you never know what the tide is going to roll in tomorrow.

It's been a couple years since I seen it... but didn't that package help keep him sane and keep him from not giving up???

Or something like that. Damn now you make me wanna watch it again.

I don't know; he opened all the other packages except the one with "wings" on it.

Yes, I've seen it many times. It's a really good movie, and Tone is right the whole thing was based off metaphor's.

The package that he delivered at the end was the thing that kept him going throughout. Do your emember when he made the raft and when a wave came he lifted up the sail (in the shape of wings)? He had painted wings underneath it, and he got the idea from the wings on the package (the one he delivered at the end). So becasue he survived those waves becasue of the sail they were able to locate him..... Make sense???

I remember asking myself that too when I first saw the movie, but I think it was because the last one he opened was wilson and he was focusing on the things he had already received from the other packages......or something like that!
